Why Enter into a Rocketry Hobby?

Rocketry is an exciting, but an expensive hobby – why would you ever want to do it? Why, when that money could be put toward a computer, car payment, video game – you could even buy an ADT home security system for that money.
Because rockets are awesome! That’s why!
Estes and many of the leading rocket brands have been releasing model rocket kits for decades and there is really nothing more exhilarating than the process of building your own rocket and launching it into the sky. There is so much involved and if you don’t do things just right when it comes to the assembly phase than any number of things could go wrong.
Don’t put in the stabilizing fins just right and the rocket could veer so far offcourse with the resonant yaw that you may never find it again. Use the wrong caliber engine for the wrong rocket model and you could detonate it on the ground instead of launching it. If you don’t even assemble the parachute right, then re-entry could be difficult.
It’s a thinking man’s activity and when you finally get it right you have the satisfaction of knowing that not only did your rocket launch, it came back in one piece.
