Hiding places for spare keys must be chosen with extreme care and caution. Intruders will more than likely check under your doormat or above your door frame. A better place to keep your key is inside your outside dog’s collar.
Don’t announce your vacation agenda on your social networks. This is especially true if you have lots of unfamiliar “friends”. This can indicate that your home will be free and vulnerable during the time.
If you do not know the person at your door, don’t open it. You never know who they might be, despite their story. Be sure that everyone in your home knows not to open the door to strangers and unexpected visitors.
When summer comes around, eliminate all vegetation and dead wood from your yard. These are vulnerable to fires and put your home in danger. Make sure your yard is clean for the sake of your safety – and that of your family!
Be more proactive when you are determining the safety of your neighborhood. Get to know other people who live next door and others in your neighborhood. Look out for their property, and see if they will look out for yours. Pay attention to gossip as well. You can learn of important security information, including if strangers have been lurking.
Always change the locks if you have someone move out of your home. Whether an old roommate left or a relationship ended, changing your locks is a good idea. It is inexpensive, and most locksmiths will be available for next day appointments.
Keep valuables out of sight of windows. Large windows let in a lot of light, but they also allow outsiders to see inside your living space. If your windows are facing the street, make sure you cover them and protect your valuables.
When selecting a home alarm system, choose one that protects many areas of your home, not just the doors. All of your windows are possible entry points for a thief too. Be certain they are also alarmed and monitored. This will make your family safer.
Criminals are much less likely to target your home if it’s well lit. Burglars don’t want to be visible. If your home is well lit, thieves won’t have any place to hide, so they may not want to steal anything from you. This makes it a good idea to keep the lights on.
Don’t limit security to the inside of your home; the outside needs attention too. All of your windows and doors should be unobstructed by plants, shrubs, trees or fences. If they can be seen, people will not hide there and attempt a break-in. Plan your greenery and shrubbery for areas away from the direct path to your home to add beauty while still keeping your house safe.
You cannot have a home security system unless it is affordable to you. When you can’t install a major alarm system, you can do something smaller. The tips here really run the basics of pricing. Cheaper methods can still produce good results!

Because rockets are awesome! That’s why!
Estes and many of the leading rocket brands have been releasing model rocket kits for decades and there is really nothing more exhilarating than the process of building your own rocket and launching it into the sky. There is so much involved and if you don’t do things just right when it comes to the assembly phase than any number of things could go wrong.
Don’t put in the stabilizing fins just right and the rocket could veer so far offcourse with the resonant yaw that you may never find it again. Use the wrong caliber engine for the wrong rocket model and you could detonate it on the ground instead of launching it. If you don’t even assemble the parachute right, then re-entry could be difficult.
It’s a thinking man’s activity and when you finally get it right you have the satisfaction of knowing that not only did your rocket launch, it came back in one piece.
